HANNAH LOUISE
Interactive Experience Designer for Museums and Cultural Institutions
Digital experiences should be created with their audiences, be accessible, and share a message. I use audio-visual technology and mobile apps to tell stories as well as foster relationships between cultural institutions and their audiences. Focusing in participatory design, I work with audience members to design and polish experiences before they are released to understand how experiences will be received.

INTERACTIVE STORYTELLING
Immersive and interactive experiences can be powerful tools for building relationships and communities.
A JERSEY FOR HELMUTT:
A VIDEO GAME DESIGNED TO COMMUNICATE
WITH AUDIENCES

October 2021
After developing an app with the Worcester Art Museum, I explained how other cultural institutions and designers can use this media to build intimate audience relationships.
I competed in ACM's Student Research Competition in the Special Interest Group on Design of Communication's 39th Annual Conference where I placed first with this research.
INTERACTIVE MEDIA AND GAME DEVELOPMENT PRACTICES APPLIED IN EXPERIENCE DESIGN FOR CULTURAL INSTITUTIONS

December 2021
In this research report, I discuss three of the prominent concerns other researchers have voiced as cultural institutions, like historical sites and museums, incorporate interactive and immersive media. I propose that institutions can incorporate common practices from the interactive media and video game industry to design their experiences while keeping these concerns in mind during the process.
I argue that design practices and styles used in the interactive media and video game industry can be used over time to design meaningful experiences for cultural institutions.
